The Interline Report on 2025 Fashion Technologies concludes a survey on understanding the perspective of industry stakeholders on developing new technologies.

According to the survey, %94 of fashion professionals believe technology will be essential to the future progress of the industry, while %80 of all fashion professionals use fashion-specific tools daily or weekly. Additionally, % 80 of fashion businesses have already invested in AI projects or will invest in them before the end of 2025. About the frequency, 75 of fashion professionals use data or digital assets created at least once per week.

The most common three interactions with technology include Product lifecycle management platforms, 3D design, simulation, and visualization solutions, and  supply chain management and mapping tools to establish supply chain visibility and connectivity

The report defines the three major technology trends for 2025;

  • Focusing on Generative AI: Shifting from exploring broad potential to investing in specific, practical applications.
  • Expanding Supply Chain Transparency: Scaling up efforts to enhance supply chain visibility and traceability through advanced solutions.
  • Transforming Fashion with 3D Tools: Moving beyond the limited use of 3D design, development, and visualization tools to fully revolutionize how fashion products and experiences are created and communicated.
The State of Fashion 2025 report starts with sharing an overview of the industry. Fashion industry growth is expected to remain low but increase slightly from 2024. The macroeconomic climate will continue to challenge growth across regions.

Some of the key takeaways from the report are;

  • The differentiation is to the competitive advantage whether through new designs, customer experiences, or finding new customer niches.
  • The collaboration; is another important headline with suppliers by establishing strategic relationships to prioritize data transparency and co-investments to jointly build resilient and productive supply chains.
  • Nearshoring is a shift in global trade; major economies will source from countries where they have more political alignment, which leads to laying the foundations for nearshoring. Latin America and Turkey can be two nearshoring hubs for America and Europe.

On the consumer side, the report declares that massive choices have customer experience and brands are looking for new ways to overcome this. %74 of customers report that they prefer to walk away from online purchases due to the volume of choice. Reinventing product discovery and increased curation possibilities with data-driven solutions may be a gateway to innovative solutions.

In conclusion, both reports reflect on changes on both the industry and consumer side, which can be relied on technological solutions to build a resilience transformation. It appears that there is already going on a strong digitalization in the industry. However, there will be more innovation that can take place to integrate the current trends. While imagining all the technologies that need to be applied, the core issues should be sustainability and an alignment with ecological and human life, which eventually is a foundational core issue for harmonious existence.
